Dear Sister

The only person who means the world to me,
I tried, but could not hold onto any longer
So young, simple, and innocent is she,
Eva, how I wish I could see you longer
Within the courtroom time most surely slowed,
Sharp pains in my heart as she cried to me
Guardian ad litem surely loathed,
I though why oh why can't they let us be.
Behind the stand the judge most proudly sat,
Me and Eva outside, my hand she held tight
Then we heard the conclusion they were at,
Then I knew true, this was not a fair fight
Know this Eva; they may have split us apart,
But cannot change how you are in my heart.
