Dear Summer

Dear Summer
All winter long I look forward to you coming over
just to brighten my days and months just for a minute.
All I ever wanted was a few months of your scorching smile
forcing me into the beaches, your high temperatures
commanding my electric bills to rise, and your hot breath
blowing down upon my head. Summer,
lately you haven't been yourself,
it seems as if you may have had a cold
or not feeling well. We come outside
and you are not there to greet
us with your smile, some days we see you cry.
We even look for you ahead of time in broadcasts.
We miss you summer!
Hopefully next year you will feel much better
where you can stay out and play with us every day.
I love you, summer...bada bing!
