~Death Overcoming Her~

This day when I lay all my hope aside
Dawn is breaking through with a single spark of light
Till noon, a bare pillar
Is my own height and this place seems to be right
To close my eyes and say goodbye
Having only a center, no east or west
Where nothing is large and all is calm
Its firmament is my own eyes
It fills the landscape of my palm
Since time has majesty to be so meek
And space comes tamely to the hand
This person must do no less for sorrow
Let the pen lie where it has fainted
The few black words it wrote
We're not set down to flatter grief
