Decaying

Do you ever feel helpless?
Lifeless on the floor but stiff,
like a baby bird fallen out of its nest,
swarmed by the million of ants.
It tramples over you, dissolving and stripping
everything to the bare bone
till there's nothing left.
All the same, I succumb to it,
drowning in the filth,
foul and shriveled,
waiting for it to finish the job.
