Deep Breathing

The moment you walked out the door,
was the moment I felt I couldn't breathe anymore.

So many nights spent suffocating over you.
Breathing in.
Breathing out.
Breathing through.

Little did I know how many deep breaths I'd still take.
Deep breaths from laughing till my belly would ache.
Deep breaths from the sensual touch of another.
Deep breaths in moments of pride as a mother.

The truth is I am breathing better than before.
Deep breathing from the moment you walked out the door.
