Demons and Monsters

Alone she sits
The walls caving in
Her demons laughing
The monsters calling
She is shouting
Her screams cannot be heard
They are calling her
Begging me to join them
It's close to impossible to resist
Their screams like nails on a chalkboard
At first this was easy
But now it's like an authority
I want to run
But I am chained to the walls
Crying quietly silently screaming
Trying to beat my foes
Never winning
Blood drips from the ceiling
Her tears slowly following
Suddenly the light is turned on
The demons vanish
The monsters hide under the bed and retreat to the closet
Her mother and father are in the doorway
I plaster a smile on
As I welcome them into my own little hell.
