DENIAL

So easy it is for you to speak.

To seem so strong, yet be so weak.

Not seeing truth though hard you try.

Fooling yourself with lie upon lie.

Life spent this way was not meant to be

The sands of the hourglass come to you free

And what have you done with the precious grains.

Wasted their blessings, replaced them with strain.

Your dreams to share have slowly faded.

Growing old together, once anticipated.

Are now just memories put in the past

Funny how time slips by so fast.

Before you know it your body grows old

Denying the façade, that you're young and you're bold

Until one day when you come to realize

It was you, not your body that told you the lies.

During this time your family will grow.

Memories gather without you in stow

As you indulge in your freedom, to busy to see.

A life of denial was your true enemy.
