Disappearing Light

The darkness was closing in.
Light disappearing; an unforgiven sin.
Frigid air was drawing near.
Screaming halts; no one could hear.

Breathing slows, heart pounds
No sun in sight, only black clouds.
Eyes slam shut, nowhere left to run.
Silence screams out, "The darkness has won."
