Discovery of Character

I'm not as good as I thought I was
But I thought I was good...
I swear...
But-I-was-wrong.
I am darkness abounding
I am cantankerous thoughts
I am rough edges
I am bits of glass sharpened to tooth-like points that will embed themselves just under your fingernails right as you go to scratch your eyes...
I am ashamed of what I've become
But I can't deny my true character
