Distance Love

Distance they say makes the heart grow fonder.
Your love was too far for me to embrace:
I for one had to sit and ponder,
The image was in my mind of your face.

Absence of presence, a cruel reality,
Every day I just wanted to shout:
And never being there was a big fatality.
All the pain just needed to finally get out.

Staying alone was a sad place to be:
I am still living life day after day.
Not letting that pain bother me:
Where my heart was it didn't stay.

A new love that is true in place of the old,
Love has been found in spite of a loss:
Distance left no room for a love that was cold.
My heart grew bigger in spite of the cost.
