Distance

DISTANCE
Out of the darkness of time
Across the continental divide
Our souls have embraced
And now they are faced
With the slowest passage of time.
When these two shall become as one
While behind us, the sun
Tells us days are closing in
When life anew will begin
And we hear the earthly clock
Begin it's countdown with each tick-tock.
