Distant Love

I bid thee farewell my anguish concealed
Dost the heart linger toward propinquity
Grant thee subtle reserve to be my shield
But too strong is the force of gravity
Be it our resolve thy tender desire
The sweet lull of thy voice pierces my mind
Words abridged shall kindle the fire
The nearness of 'morrow I long to find
I greet thee with a gentle passing touch
My fair deception breads an honest breath
Near art thou not and doubt becomes my crutch
Inevitable space this love taketh
Dost thou comfort and leave me not chagrined
Belief vanishes like the fickle wind
