Distraught

Late night hours,
Bring back the deepest terrors.
While the sun is awake,
Only positive thoughts seem to take.
But when my bright sun begins to set,
My eyes begin to wet.
And as the dark moon begins to rise,
My dark feelings are no surprise.
Hate, sadness, regret, pain,
Nothing I would ever want to remain.
Lying in my bed, I feel his arms around me,
Protecting me from everything I see.
Our small memories fill my dreams,
Until I awake in screams.
All through the night,
When I wish for my knight.
