Divided and Disconnected

Worse things have happened, right?
Your parents were in love and now all they do is fight.
Maybe you're to blame, maybe they just lost sight
Of every vow they said to each other on that very night.
The harsh words they've said run through their kid's head,
No more family Christmases, the traditions were dead.
But wait, there's more to it, your mom says to you,
I'm moving out of state, and you're coming too!
10 hours and 34 minutes it will take to arrive,
To your new home, with no dad by your side,.
A whole different town, a new school and new friends,
A whole different world was about to begin.
