Do You Really Know Her?

Do you really know her?
How she's a sheer mystery,
Appearing to be open,
But still hiding her history.

Do you really know her?
How her brain turns at night,
The wheels turn and turn,
And never do go quiet.

Do you really know her?
How she turns from hot to cold,
One minute she is laughing,
And the next she will scold.

Do you really know her?
How her heart is big and deep,
She really hates to show it,
Finds it hard to take that leap.

Do you really know her?
How as a child she felt alone,
She could see it as a teenager,
Her name on a tomb stone.

Do you really know her?
How she hates to be praised,
She really can't help it,
Just the way she was raised.

Do you really know her?
How she was changed by addiction,
Her mother's outrageous antics,
Use to feel like fiction.

Do you really know her?
How she overthinks situations,
She really tries to stop it,
But can't control those operations.

Do you really know her?
How she cares too much,
With everything she does,
She adds a special touch.

Do you really know her?
How she's been abused,
They said that they loved her,
But left her broken and bruised.

Do you really know her?
How she cries silently,
Showing sadness in the world,
Gives her great anxiety.

Do you really know her?
How she's finally happy,
Haunted by her past,
So she can be very snappy.

Do you really know her?
The story of her life,
It finally began,
As a mother and a wife.
