Do You Think I Am Ugly?

I stand stoically in place and shelter you
from the burden my mother bestows upon me

Naked,often alone,
not noticed in my quiet sleep,

Do you think I am ugly?

Now you see me! fresh and firm and new!
my scent fills your senses,
my beauty, beyond your dreams!
So alive!

Do you think I am ugly?

Your look is distant, I feel common and tread upon,
my limbs are raped,
my blood drained.

As I provided you abundant life!
You rejoiced elsewhere.

Do you think I am ugly?

Vibrant in my anger and sorrow, you once again look to me, with awe.

It was not to last,
One last time, let me embrace your fondness of me.

Do you think I am ugly?
