Don’t eat the salad

Don’t eat the salad

Don’t eat the salad
Even Though you are keen
It won’t make you feel better
These leaves of green are obscene
You will never again be carefree
Brainwashing you to be lean
You’ll put on a mask
Be a character in a scene
Acting differently even though deep down you’re the same
Hurting yourself and only being mean

Don’t eat the salad
You’ll wear tight skirts
And say “get out of my way”
Laughing with people you don’t even know
But soon you will pay
Feeling so alone
You will cry all night until day
Hating your reflection
“I’m just using the bathroom” you will say
But then you will open your mouth and feel lighter
Your parents will find you on the bathroom floor where you lay
To the hospital, you will go
And when your mom will ask “is she okay?”
The doctor will tell them of how it took a turn for the worse
And if they ask if you’re alive he will have to say nay

So when the waiter asks
What will it be
Think long and hard before you reply
Because you will no longer be free
If you order the salad
You see
Don’t order the salad
Just order what makes you happy
