Don’t Forget

Don't forget our first kiss,
the kiss where you asked me to be yours.
Don't forget our first "I love you,"
when you took me to meet your mother.
Don't forget our first time,
where you asked me to marry you.
Don't forget your son,
Jace: we named him after your brother.
Don't forget when I was diagnosed with cancer,
it was the first time you cried.
Don't forget holding my hand,
when I took my last breath.
Don't forget our love,
because I can't.
Thank you for keeping your promise,
till death do we part.
Don't forget to find happiness,
for I won't forgive myself for leaving.

This Poems Story

I want to thank my family for supporting me in my dark times. Poetry was my escape from reality. I am bullied a lot and was stuck in a dark place after two of my best friends killed themselves. I wrote this poem because I didn't want them to forget what they could have or have because suicide is not the answer. Please remember someone out there loves you, but first you have to find them.
