Don’t Look Back

Clinking of metal in the halls
Filtering my ears.
The droids, dark and lean,
Menacingly chase down the narrow halls.
Their blinding blue rays
Pierce the eyes of their downlookers.

Don't look at them directly in the eye,
Lest you become one of them.
Their looks are enchanting, but
Are deceiving.

Don't let them deceive you.
For the laughter of memories
Once known are now nonexistent
Replaced by only monotonous drones,
And unison marching.

The rebellion is rising, dear one.
Take up your arms and don't be afraid.
Don't let them take you alive,
Lest you want to become trapped by them.
Lest you want to be left behind
Like I was.
