Don’t

By Eric L.

Life-the deep, dark void, and yet
Blindly wander about it's net
"I love you"misses table set
So twenty rainbows will be your debt
But softly does it come in May
The whispers rumored summer? Nay
Hold me while I still can play
For my love pervades your sullen way
Again tides go, and wilt do flowers
To hide from the looming of thy powers
That crash the musty, fetid towers
Where a rat in the darkly corner cowers
That rat is you, and once again
I say adieu to my little friend
Whose heart my love can't seem to bend
Away from me, you will rescind
Hence come tides, come flowers' bloom
Come sun come Eric from the womb
Of his dreary, wizen room
For another daily dose of doom
'Cause life is but a meaningless
Foolish drunkards' craven kiss
Whose early dusk he does not miss
All to intoxication's bliss
So when you die in mid-December
(Take note, your life you won't remember)
