Down In New Orleans

Down in New Orleans
Where the mean flood waters flow
Some people lost their lives
Or watched their dreams just go.
Families torn asunder
Lovers washed apart
Hoping for a better life
Now needing a new start.

The rain kept falling on New Orleans
And the ocean was on the surge
The levees got over-powered
And all the waters got to merge.

People in a panic, trying to get away
Some just sit while crying, others simply pray
Bodies in the water, some go floating by
All the loss and suffering, makes you wonder why?

The rain kept falling on New Orleans
And the ocean was on the surge
Levees got over-powered
And all the waters got to merge.
