Dream a Little Dream with Me...

Take my Life intently
For what is seen today
Not what has been in the past
The demons understand
A big, bad boogieman
Will not bother me,
For the Kingdom of God sends me butterflies
In all my slumbers
When I’m addicted to sleep
With the lack of feeling
But in my deepest dreams
I feel too much anyway,
And I weep with the tears of yesterday
Like a switched on emotional memory
Of my once steadfast depression
The one and only monarch butterfly
Of my bitter winter season
Wings softer than linens of the freshest scent
Flutter by flapping on wayward
Forward over the morning dew
Underneath all the ravens,
These creatures don’t worry
About Freedom not being on the horizon,
So I’ll always wait to see my next morning
