Dream Vacation


I want to travel the World
Said one young girl in purdah
Stuck behind a veil, out of other’s sight
You don’t even know if you’ll go to college
The young servant boy called
Her out on her un-convention
Her mind snapped back from the scenery
And she pumped harder on her childhood swing
Just so she could see over the wall
The brisk call that freedom wailed
In her dreams she had painted so well
