Dreamer’s Journey

Can you release me
as we approach the county line

mistakenly feel in love with a dream
which was not necessarily mine

all of these years of masquerades
flashing by like sheets of rain

cut the strings behind your neck
making eye contact without your mask

do you have an image to explain
how we lost our way back

move forward is your only call
pulling my hand together we fall

like a passionate lover
with limited time to meet your climaxing fire

Now, your world is all my eyes can see
held captive in a lover's dream

take a step back
and suddenly it's difficult to breath

You pull me into an embrace and whisper:
"Is this not the passion you seek?"
