Dreamland

The little boy drifted off into dreamland
The only place where he felt safe
Floating up into the sky
Catching stars and making wishes
The smiling moon and wistful stars twinkling like his eyes
His only friends
Catching dreams in jars
He keeps by his bedside
staring down at his little house
Where mommy and daddy are fighting once again
She is crying, begging, pleading
He walks out the door
Leaving her all alone
Where she drifts off into dreamland
Just like her son
But she is never to return
