Dreams, Solace and Peace

He came to me in a silent dream, I was granted a last good-bye.
He said, "You have to be happy Mom, I don't want you to cry."
I could not lay down the loss, a son of twenty-one.
God sent to me while in another realm, the image of my son.

He said, "You cannot touch me Mom, for I am not the same.
Still I love you deeply and I hear you cry my name.
I am happy here, God loves me deep, I just want you in peace.
Please watch over my family, they are still within your reach.

"I really did not want to leave, our fate is not always ours to call.
When the Father says our days are done, He reigns above us all.
So rest in peace, and know in paradise I wait.
Souls fill with love and rapture as they enter Heaven's gate."

I awoke a different person, I saw my loved one in a mist.
I truly knew there was a God, by His mercy I was kissed.
To those who doubt this story, I pray you never know,
The pain of not just losing a child, but the strength to let go.
