Drive

Let’s go down this road a spell
Where we’ll end up, no one can tell
We’ll see some sights, let the engine fly
Chase the sunset all through the sky
There won’t be no need for looking back
As we go thundering down the beaten track
Both hands on the wheel, gripping tight
Petal to the metal, busting through the night

I have paid for everything I have ever got
Every word and phrase, and single thought
And all the memories that cant be bought
Of every minute upon every mile
You make life worth living
I could never hide my smile
To deny your responsibility for that, would be fibbing
And you know that is just not my style

It’s useless to search for solutions to any mystery
When you’re reveling in the glory of simplicity
In the sweet harmony of a perfect comradery
At that point, really, what else is there to know?
I want to get as far I can get, before it falls apart
See everything that’s worth watching, before it gets too dark
Feel all the freedom of a open road, with a youthful heart
Honestly that is the only real way to go
