'Twas burning in me from my birth
The driven urge to change the earth.
We know that man has wandered far
From God's great gift that Christmas star.
But driven as I feel and act,
It seems there is a devil's pact
To cut and change and drive away.
The goodness shared-we hope, we pray-
For human kindness, fairness, care,
A balance found that we can share.
Our nations wish for all to come
This level plain, this fruit, this plum.
Driven by the goal I feel
To fight what others mean to steal.
They hold, they halt, they will not share,
They're driven too, we're all aware-
Driven that they gain, we lose
But all together, we refuse.
Brothers driven, we can win,
Brethren with us, raise the din.
Holding, helping, hearts apply
Our chorus aimed to reach the sky.
And as it rises, driven still
This motivation firms our will-
To drive for justice, one and all
Driven, and not meant to fall.
