Driving Into The Wreck

The key ignites my sixty nine motor
My seatbelt tight proceeding forward
AM or FM as I tune the radio tuner
I slip an eight track into the player

First gear, second gear, tires chirping
Speakers blaring piercing my drums
Tires squealing with rubber burning
Third gear, fourth gear, now I’m cruising

Green light, yellow light, turns to red
Metal pulverizing metal as I drive through
When I come to rest, I’m upside down
Red lights flashing as I open my lids

Firefighters cut me out with jaws
My face covered in my red blood cells
Lying on the stretcher I hear my last sound
My stereo playing stairway to heaven
