DRIZZLE TO STORM

Drizzle to Storm
Gray spider crouches
and lays flat
hunkered in the sinewy sky
Waiting
the symphony is simmering,
playing an overture to
a violent symphony
He pulls his web taut
a few opalescent threads
unravel and pirouette downward
with languid,lopsided grace
these silver skeins arrive
unheralded
to a mendicant landscape
Introductions are brusque and hurried
With no curtsies
as adroit artisans weave them
sightlessly into the tapestry
Gray spider heaves
The orchestra climbs to crescendo
Symphony turns cacophony
Blaring the discordant music
of chaos
