Drowning

Drowning is
Loss of breath and hope
Drowning is
Terrifying
For terror fills you
As you desperately
Claw for the surface
As light slowly disappears from sight
But life disappears faster
Next come confusion
Which way is up?
Which way is down?
The depths beckon you
Away from reality
Away from your family
Away from all you love
Towards the dark, hopeless deep
Towards despair
Towards the sea floor
Were your body will erode
Were the fish pick you apart
While your eyes are still open
Still filled with fear
Depression
And loss of hope
Of course the question has to be asked
Is drowning much different
From failure?
