Drunk Dial

Her drunk words
spill off her
broken lips
with the last
shreds of sobriety.

Cracked voice echoes
through the speakers,
heavy with broken-hearted
desperation.

Miss you
Miss you
She whispers
over and over again.

He feels the tears
spill out from the screen,
her shoulders shudder.
Miss you.

The words tumble out
drenched in alcohol.
Half-sung
melancholy
lullabies
trailed off with sleep.

Miss you.
