Duck Statues.

Sunshine dances across your face,
sitting in your room,
while I mess with your hair,
trying to make you look cool.

I'll always try to be there for you,
if you need it,
if you can see it,
if you want me to be.
But I know this won't last much longer.

I love you much too strongly,
to stick near you, like driftwood
to an ocean or sea.
Just know, I loved you enough
to make you hate me.

So like a raft at sea, I will push you away from me,
because you don't deserve this pain.

you don't deserve to wake up like me every day.
