Dune Grass

Daintily.
Delicately.
Dauntingly, you exist.

Wind, waves
or the beat of feathered wings passing,
any natures breath
can move you.

Oh,
but underneath the sand
where the heart of you lives
is a warrior.
Generations of roots
grasp hands and hold fast
keeping the sea and sand in place.

Harbor.
Home.
Hostage, fated to never leave.
For without you,
all dreams by the ocean
would die,
for you hold hope together.
