Early Wonder

Golden blonde curls caress her young shoulders
While fixated blue eyes follow a bouquet of balloons
Across the foyer they bob up and down
Connected are varied hues of shimmering ribbon
Child's hands delightfully reach out to nab
Yet cannot untangle a single streamer
Frustrated tears pour from her wide, wistful eyes
A parent hears her cries and wraps secure arms around her
The whimpers lull away as a lilac balloon is freed from its nest
Giggles erupt when her new friend bops her mother's nose
French doors open and the family plus wonder go home
