Earth Mother

Earth Mother takes
Good care of me
Flower gardens
For security
Tree tops for
My escape
Dirt- my blanket
Her embrace
Lakes and oceans
Her breast’s milk
No matter what- always full
Morning dew- her gentle kiss
Upon my soft, brown skin
A breeze- her caress of me
Rain- her sadness;
She can’t be with me
Yet I’m as happy
As a child could be
For the Earth is my Mother
As long as I exist, I’ll love her.
