Eavesdropping

At a small restaurant downtown
Just quieter than the others
A lone couple discusses their issues
Talking right in front of me
Food was yet to be brought
Giving effort to be silent
Not every word understood
I could only take
A big idea
From few words

The man has work problems
A situation involving his boss
Is a co worker blackmailing him?
Or were they friends?

The woman wants a house
A life in the suburbs
But the bank declined
They are lacking the credit
The dinner is just arriving
But the entertainment has already come
