Echoes of a Smile

Echoes of a Smile
By Edward Haas

I don't know what to do today, they just told me that you went away
And I don't know if I can try, I never thought that you'd say goodbye
Now all I have are the echoes of your smile

How can she even go on , she don't know what's right or wrong
And how is she supposed to smile, you always told her that you'd stay awhile
Now all she has are the echoes of your smile

Memories of your dreams and fears, are washed away by my pool of tears
You taught me how to laugh the day away, but that's when I thought you were here to stay

I just saw a bluebird today, told me that you never went away
Why would he lie and make me cry, then he told me how I could fly
Said all I need are the echoes of your smile
All I'll ever need are the echoes of your smile
