Eclipse

You are the moon.
You are cold with holes in you
that no one can fix.
People would lie in the dark
in the dead of the night
just to watch you.
You are a beautiful mystery that everyone wants
to visit but very few get the opportunity.
I am the sun.
I could heat the earth
with the fire that burns for you
but my heat never reaches you.
I rise every morning,
Bright, blushing pink
with hopes of seeing you
And set every night
leaving darkness
because you are never there.
I want to be the only star that surrounds you
but instead I am the only one you never meet.
I want to fill every empty hole with my light
and melt your cold hard surface.
I want an eclipse.
