Eloquence

It has been the first time you've picked up
After centuries and ocean spreading
In between the two of us

We spoke no words
Besides me weeping on the landline
For an hour
You exhaling the smoke out of your lungs

Our silence spoke for us
Your shaky breathing
My landline tragedy

Nothing is as eloquent as nothing.
