Emptiness

To drink is to live
The poison keeps our heart pumping
While it drains us
Withered, rotten
Leaving us nothing but empty sacks of flesh
Yet we drink
And drink
Claiming this is fulfillment
But the emptiness eats us, make us fear
Makes us crave
So we eat
We eat our loved ones up
Selfishly taking what little strength they have
We blame others for our hunger
A hunger from the endless emptiness
So we eat and take
Till their is nothing left
Nothing to hurt, Nothing to take
So we breathe
Hoping the air will push us forward
But it takes us back
Too weak to push against it
We drink, we eat, we breathe
Hoping to find a new strength
An empty endless cycle that we call life
Leads us to hurt and to be hurt, as we are empty
