Empty Away

My heart, though bold
and bleeding, has no life left in it
my soul, haunted by wrong
and anger, is empty away.
Tears rivet through the lines
on my freckled face and go
nowhere but down.
Afraid, but a longing need
to be alone.
Alone, but can't stand being in
my skin
just empty away.
