Empty Nest

Mama bird made a beautiful nest.
She didn't stop until she was finished.
Then soon came a baby bird,
one that could not yet fly.
Little by little, the bird hatched,
from his warm little egg.
Mama bird was finally not alone,
and fed her baby for so long.
Little by little the bird grew,
spread his wings and learned to fly.
Mama was sad because she knew,
sooner or later the baby would go.
She watched him grow and twitter,
and he did not stop until he was ready.
Mama was sad because she knew,
my baby is going to go.
Will he be okay?
Will he come back to see me?
No No she said, he has gone,
and now mama must let go.
On and On she lived,
and then one day
another nest was made.
