Empty Nester

Inhale, sigh
Eighteen years gone by
Life lessons learned
Heart strings yearn
To go back to the day
Of little boy at play

Young and bold
What will the future hold
Now college bound
Heart beat pounds
As you follow the plan
To be your own man

Fly like the rest
Last one out of the nest
Kisses and hugs
Heart ache tugs
As we say our good-byes
Exhale, sigh
