Empty Stocking

Empty Stocking full of love"
I sat staring at her stocking under the Christmas tree
Thinking how hard it was going to be
To find something special to put inside,
A present my Mom could take to the other side
Bubble bath wasn't practical
And neither was a book
I needed something magical
So I began to look
It came to me like a whisper in my ear
And with understanding I wept a single tear
So I gave my mom the stocking empty and by itself
And told her what I wanted to place inside
Couldn't be bought off a shelf
She opened the stocking and looked inside
As if God had whispered in her ear she began
To cry...
Nothing I could have bought could express how I feel
There is no special present to show you my love IS REAL
The measure of someones love you can not see
And love is what I put in the stocking
And placed under the tree
