Ending Scene

Ending scenes don’t always have to be cruel and dark and angry
But the final page doesn’t have to be decorated in flowers and gold and ribbons
Chapters end and books close
Credits roll and ovations commence
That’s just life, and the truth in everything

For all time, and always,
Endings are a reminder of the beauty in the pain
And the pain that beauty created
The time we shared;
The seeds we planted
And tended,
That bloomed,
And turned to ashes
Just as seasons change and leaves fall
Everything comes to an end
That’s just the nature of it all

This Poems Story

This poem was inspired by one of my favorite songs ‘Ending Scene’ by IU, after the end of a friendship. I was trying to practise writing longer poems, and I guess this is an improvement as it’s longer than one stanza
