English and Literature

Crafting works from words,
With artful alliteration,
Flowing as freely as a bird,
Syntax through careful combination,
With diction for the rest,
To influence the nation,
With eloquent art,
As beautiful as the moon's crest.

Although some are as colorful,
As a sun-bleached rainbow,
Most are written full,
Of either elation or sorrow.

Pieces of one's heart,
In the form of letters,
To form this communicative art,
Before the writer is torn apart,
By time's aging hand,
To be carried to an unknown land,
Or even become the land itself.
