Engraved Stones*

A full-grown woman
Lies upon the green
Where dirt has been unbidden from ground
And where a thousand engraved stones cover the place
On each side of her lies
Her grandmother and grandfather
With glistening in her eyes she bid on comfort
She comes to thee
Six feet below and six feet above
Visiting all the people that have gone
She holds her hands up to her mouth
Looks to the sky and blows a kiss
To say good bye.
