Ennui

By

Silent density has settled,
Like an aural veil.
Ennui bores me with her hungry stare

I stare back

Her contact traces an empty performance in me.
Hope pulls at my strings,
But I am music-less.
I will wait in this forced solitude
For vivacity to pull tight in me,
But until then,
I will sit and submit
To my locked in mood.
