Enough Is Enough

I am man
I have come to conquer
and rape this world
to pillage or abuse
to squander then recuse
to enslave
or destroy whatever I cannot
understand, I am man
and only I have the power
to lie and cheat
to consume but not to eat
to exterminate in the quest
to be God, yet I am man
hoarder, gathering wealth
into my ark of greed
leaving my brother in its roiling wake of need
my rampant march trampling the truth
beneath me, so I believe
I am another man
who heard the word of love
sealed in the din of man's mortality
though sure to be resurrected
should enough men shout, loud!
